Originally, most of my work was produced using watercolours and watercolour pencils, however now the vast majority of my paintings are created with acrylics.   I love the vibrancy of the colours, the speed they dry and the variety of effects they allow me to achieve.

I paint on many different surfaces including slate, wood, ceramic, canvas and aluminium.   Each different surface has it's own unique advantages

(& disadvantages..!).   Careful consideration is given to the most appropriate surface when beginning a new painting.

Inspiration for paintings is everywhere, but predominantly I love to paint birds, animals and wildlife. 

Autumn colours are my absolute favourite and my camera is full of snaps of the hundreds of things that catch my eye everyday.   From sunsets to leaves, flowers and berries, reflections in puddles and the local hares, badgers and birds that can be spotted just a few steps from my studio door... the list is varied and endless!

I see potential paintings all around and am constantly looking at colour combinations, compositions and creative ideas.
